Poinsettia Heights is bounded by Federal Highway (U.S. Highway 1) and Sunrise Boulevard, adjacent to Middle River Terrace and Lake Ridge. Originally called “North Ridge,” the development was constructed by Gill Construction Company in the 1940s and early 1950s after World War II. Within this family-friendly community, there are two schools, Bennett Elementary and Sunrise Middle schools. High school students attend Fort Lauderdale High School.
